We’re shipping.
After four years as an incorporated company and many adventures in engineering, manufacturing, and ramping production: we're at the point where customers are getting units for the first time. This is an incredibly awesome moment, and we're really excited that a ton of folks have stuck with us for over a year and a half since we opened pre-orders in January 2024.
This is just the beginning, however. We're in the process of ramping production to sustain not just our first-party product but multiple partner products that we'll be shipping over the coming years. Additionally, we will be supporting software OTA updates to the current product that people have been getting in their homes over the past couple of months.
So, what does this mean if you haven't ordered yet? We're going to be updating delivery timelines in the coming weeks to be much more accurate, because we have an actual pipeline of deliveries to forecast off of. We're also going to be expanding our physical footprint, and you'll be able to try the Impulse cooktop in the real world at showrooms near you this fall. You also can request a demo on our website, which enables you to either watch a virtual demo or come in person to our showroom in San Francisco and try the product for yourself.
For the folks still waiting, we will be communicating with you in the coming weeks about your delivery. If you haven't paid your full deposit balance, we will be sending you an email to collect that. We're actually starting to run ahead of the schedule that has been communicated publicly.

Let's do a quick retrospective on what it took to get us to this point:
First, we built the underlying induction platform from scratch (probably the first time this has been done in the United States in over a decade), and developed a world-leading temperature control technology that enables us to control the temperature inside the pan for the first time ever.
We partnered with one of the largest manufacturers of lithium iron phosphate batteries to develop an extremely compact, extremely power-dense battery pack that is produced at mass scale.
We spent 20 months on safety testing and compliance work to become the first battery integrated appliance certified to the UL 858 standard. We didn’t take any shortcuts or ship any units until the safety work was complete.
We partnered with one of the largest electronics manufacturers in the world to scale production at a quality bar comparable to the consumer electronics industry.
We developed our own operating system, UL60730 firmware stack, and cloud infrastructure to service not just this first appliance, but future products as well.
We launched a brand that is now well known enough that I get random shout outs on the street. But more importantly, we've become recognized as a technology leader in the cooking appliance space.
We've partnered with multiple large, respected appliance brands around the world to bring our technology to an even bigger market in 2026. More on this to come!
And critically: we have possibly the best unit economics for deploying batteries onto the grid of any other approach. People buy a high-performance stove because it's a high-performance stove, and we install batteries on the grid for free. This means gigawatt-hours of storage deployed onto the grid, deployed through device categories that already have a comfortable place in modern homes. That’s a win for communities, utilities, and the planet while ensuring individuals can have the most powerful appliances ever made.
What’s next? We built the only appliance that gets better over time
We're the first surface cooking appliance, ever, that can push OTA performance updates. This is not possible in other brands’ products as they typically do not control the underlying firmware of the induction subsystem. We designed our induction system from the ground up and we deliberately separated low-level safety systems from the rest of the high-level algorithms. This allows us to push regular performance updates without compromising safety or waiting on lengthy regulatory approvals. You can compare this to players in the automotive space (Tesla) that have been able to successfully boost performance of the product after shipping. We are doing the same thing. We’ve got a long list of performance and feature updates in the works, and will be sharing more in the coming weeks. Every update is focused on making the stove faster, quieter, and even more efficient.
And to all our supporters, thank you for your support and your pre-orders. We look forward to getting you your stove in the coming weeks. We know this has been a very long journey, but we're really excited to get to this point.
Thanks again,
Sam D’Amico CEO & Founder of Impulse Labs
